Pakistan, July 24 -- Google has introduced a new selfie video verification feature for account sign-in and recovery, aiming to strengthen security and protect users from identity fraud, deepfakes and account hacking.

The new feature allows users to verify their identity by recording a short selfie video, which can be used as an alternative sign-in method or to recover access to a Google account when traditional verification options are unavailable.

According to Google, the feature has been designed to improve identity verification while making it more difficult for cybercriminals to exploit stolen credentials or use AI-generated deepfake videos to gain unauthorized access.
