Pakistan, Aug. 7 -- A senior Google DeepMind executive has warned that artificial intelligence could pose a serious risk to humanity. She said the possibility of human extinction from AI is not zero. Lila Ibrahim, Google DeepMind's Chief AI Readiness Officer, shared the warning during a recent interview. She said rapid AI development requires greater attention to existential risks. Ibrahim avoided assigning a specific probability to human extinction. However, she said dismissing the threat would be irresponsible.
