Pakistan, May 12 -- Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Tuesday following a strong increase in international bullion rates. The price of gold per tola jumped Rs4,100 to reach Rs492,462 in the local market. Rising global prices also pushed silver rates higher across Pakistan's bullion markets.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, 10-gram gold gained Rs3,515 during the session. As a result, 10-gram gold was sold at Rs422,206 in local markets. The increase followed a sharp decline recorded during the previous trading session. On Monday, gold prices had fallen Rs5,300 per tola to settle at Rs488,362.
