Pakistan, Oct. 4 -- Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Kyiv on Sunday to announce new military and energy support for Ukraine. He was accompanied by defence industry executives as Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities continue. Merz said Ukraine would receive €1 billion in military aid and €350 million for energy repairs.

Merz said Germany would continue supporting Ukraine as Russian forces target towns, homes and heating facilities. He warned that Russia's war machine could eventually threaten other European countries if it is not stopped. Meanwhile, the German delegation includes Economic Affairs Minister Katherina Reiche and senior business leaders.
