Pakistan, June 26 -- A powerful heatwave has intensified across Germany, forcing the cancellation of several outdoor events while forecasters warn temperatures could climb above 40 degrees Celsius through the weekend. Large parts of the country are already experiencing severe to extreme heat stress, raising concerns over public safety, travel disruptions and wildfire risks.
According to provisional weather data, the south-western town of Kirrlach recorded a temperature of 39.0 degrees Celsius, narrowly missing Germany's all-time June record of 39.6 degrees set in 2019.
