Pakistan, June 19 -- France has called on the United States to pressure Israel to halt its military operations in Lebanon, amid escalating cross-border tensions in the region. The appeal comes as Israeli forces continue strikes targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon. The statement highlights growing diplomatic concern over the widening conflict.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said Washington must use its influence to stop Israeli military actions and help stabilise the situation in Lebanon. Speaking to a French broadcaster, he stressed the need for coordinated international efforts to prevent further escalation in the region.
