Pakistan, Sept. 24 -- Former Pakistan cricketers have criticised the way allegations against Mohammad Rizwan are being handled. They have raised questions over the lack of publicly presented evidence and a formal written charge against the former Pakistan captain.

Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar said targeting Rizwan without solid evidence amounted to making him a scapegoat. He questioned the basis for action against the cricketer while specific evidence has not been publicly presented.

Former Test cricketer Mohsin Khan also expressed concern over the issue. He said unproven allegations involving fixing and gambling can damage a player's reputation.
