Pakistan, June 5 -- Pakistan's Foreign Office on Thursday issued a sharp warning to India over reported plans to divert the flow of the Chenab River, while also reaffirming Islamabad's continued diplomatic engagement in efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Persian Gulf amid ongoing regional instability.
Responding to a question during the Foreign Office' weekly briefing on reports regarding an Indian government tender for the proposed Chenab-Beas link tunnel project, the Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi described the move as a grave violation of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), international law, and the Vienna Convention on treaties.
