Pakistan, Aug. 13 -- The National Emergency Operations Centre has issued an advance alert for floods and landslides from August 13 to 15. Heavy rainfall may affect several upper areas during this period. Authorities have warned of flooding near rivers and vulnerable mountainous regions.

According to the alert, strong winds and thunderstorms are expected in northern areas. Some locations may also receive heavy rainfall during the period. Flash floods could develop in streams and hill torrents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
