Pakistan, July 13 -- Torrential rains triggered powerful flash floods across several valleys of Diamer overnight, causing widespread destruction to homes, farmland, roads and public infrastructure. The floods also blocked the Karakoram Highway, leaving hundreds of passengers, freight vehicles and tourists stranded. Emergency teams started rescue and assessment work while authorities began efforts to restore damaged routes and essential services.
