Pakistan, April 24 -- Finland's government has proposed lifting legal restrictions on importing, possessing, and storing nuclear weapons. The move is part of planned amendments to the Atomic Energy Act and Criminal Code. Officials say the changes aim to strengthen national defence within NATO.

The defence ministry said the proposals would allow transport, storage, and transit of nuclear weapons. This would also enable allied operations involving nuclear-capable aircraft in Finnish airspace. Authorities argue the shift supports collective NATO defence planning.
