Pakistan, Sept. 6 -- President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Farooq Yousaf Sheikh has welcomed the appointment of seasoned banker Imran Sarwar as the new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).

In a statement issued here on Saturday, the FCCI president said Sarwar brought over 27 years of extensive experience in banking, corporate strategy and risk management.

Farooq Yousaf Sheikh expressed confidence that Sarwar's vast domestic and international commercial banking experience would help steer the state-owned financial institution towards new heights.
