Pakistan, Sept. 5 -- The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has ruled that an HEC equivalence certificate does not guarantee university admission. The court said universities can set their own academic requirements. It also recognised the autonomy of educational institutions in determining programme-specific eligibility. The ruling came while dismissing a petition filed by candidate Altaf Hussain. The case involved his application for admission to an MPhil programme at Punjab University.
