Pakistan, May 1 -- A private citizen has challenged the recent increase in petrol and diesel prices by moving the Federal Constitution Court, seeking immediate relief for consumers. The petition argues that the price hike places an unfair burden on the public amid rising economic pressures. It calls for a rollback of fuel rates across the country.
The case has been filed by Advocate Zulfikar Ahmed Bhutta under constitutional provisions. It urges the court to direct the government to fix petrol and diesel prices at Rs200 per litre. The petition also requests alternative fuel import arrangements to reduce dependency on expensive international markets.
