Pakistan, Oct. 1 -- The government has decided to launch a crackdown against one million non-filers after a fixed tax scheme for retailers failed to gain enough support. Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Langrial informed a Senate committee about the decision. He said retailers would face strict action if they failed to join the tax system. The development comes as the government seeks to expand the country's tax base and increase compliance.
