Pakistan, Oct. 10 -- Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi believes parents should continue to support their children after marriage, stressing that sons and daughters deserve equal importance and protection.

Speaking on a private TV channel show, Quraishi revisited his earlier remarks opposing the notion that a married daughter should return to her parents' home only after her death.

The actor criticised parents who believe their daughters can return home only for their funerals, questioning why they would abandon their children when they needed support.

"Is she not your child?" Quraishi asked, adding that parents who had raised their daughters should stand by them, particularly when they faced violence or abuse.
