Pakistan, June 29 -- The Europe heatwave has resulted in more than 1,300 excess deaths since June 21, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Extremely high temperatures across several European countries have put significant pressure on hospitals and emergency services, with a sharp rise in emergency calls reported.
Temperatures exceeded 40degC in many parts of Europe this week, leading to dangerous conditions for vulnerable populations. Health authorities said the prolonged heat has increased the number of heat-related illnesses and placed additional strain on healthcare systems across the region.
