Pakistan, Aug. 24 -- The European Union (EU) has approved another €6.1 billion in military aid for Ukraine. The package equals about $7.1 billion and aims to strengthen Ukraine's air defences. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the decision on Monday. She said Ukraine urgently needs air defence systems, missiles, ammunition and radars. The announcement came on Ukraine's Independence Day. It also preceded talks between Ukraine and its allies on increasing military support.
