Pakistan, Aug. 8 -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the Makkah defence agreement between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye is not directed against any country. He called it a step toward regional peace and stability.

Erdogan said he visited Makkah at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. He met the Saudi leader and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the visit.

The three countries signed a joint defence agreement during the meeting. Erdogan said the pact aims to strengthen collective defence capabilities and expand cooperation against terrorism.
