Pakistan, June 9 -- The federal government has reduced electricity prices by Rs1.99 per unit under the quarterly tariff adjustment mechanism, offering relief to consumers across Pakistan, according to an official notification issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

The reduction, announced on Tuesday, will remain effective for three months from June to August 2026. It applies to the quarterly adjustment period covering January to March 2026 and is expected to ease financial pressure on households and businesses nationwide.
According to NEPRA, the tariff cut represents a cumulative relief of approximately Rs67.17 billion for electricity consumers....
