Pakistan, June 27 -- Pakistan's security forces killed eight suspected militants during two intelligence-based operations conducted in Balochistan's Kharan and Mastung districts, according to the military's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a statement issued on Saturday, the ISPR said the operations were carried out on June 25 and 26 as part of the country's ongoing counterterrorism campaign. The military said the operations targeted militants it described as belonging to "Fitna al Hindustan," a term used by the Pakistani state for Balochistan-based militant groups it alleges are backed by India. India has consistently denied allegations of supporting militancy in Pakistan.
