Pakistan, July 31 -- Participants at Pakistan's first Economic Summit 2026 called for the creation of new administrative units, arguing that governance reforms are essential to addressing the country's long-standing economic and administrative challenges.

Speaking at the summit in Islamabad, senior lawyer and Pakistan Bar Council member Ahsan Bhoon said the Constitution provides room for administrative restructuring. He noted that Article 1 allows the creation of administrative units, the declaration of federal territories, and changes to provincial boundaries through constitutional procedures.
