Pakistan, Sept. 1 -- A major dispute has erupted among Pakistan's trade organizations after another body began operating in the role of a "Federation" despite the presence of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry FPCCI, prompting strict action from the Directorate General of Trade Organizations DGTO under the Ministry of Commerce.
According to sources, the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association PHMA has formally written to FPCCI citing DGTO rules and raising objections over the matter. In the letter, PHMA stated that under the Ministry of Commerce's Trade Organizations Act 2013, only one national-level federation can be registered in the country, and that is FPCCI.
