Pakistan, Sept. 10 -- Digital payments in Pakistan have recorded strong growth, with more than 2 million people now using digital transactions. State Minister for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani said the figure has risen sharply from around 500,000 users. He credited the government's push toward a cashless economy for helping accelerate the shift.

Kayani shared the figures during a meeting with a Gates Foundation delegation led by Dr Anita Zaidi, president of its Gender Equality Division.
