Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- Demi Lovato is officially returning to the Camp Rock franchise with an on-screen cameo in Camp Rock 3, nearly two decades after the original film helped launch her career. Disney confirmed her return just days before the highly anticipated sequel premieres.

Lovato will reprise her role as Mitchie Torres while also serving as an executive producer on the new film. Fans had already suspected her appearance after archival audio featuring her character was heard in earlier promotional trailers.

Her return comes 18 years after the original Camp Rock premiered in 2008 and introduced Lovato to a global audience. The actress and singer will reunite with the Jonas Brothers, who are also returning to their original roles.
