Pakistan, June 6 -- Delhi authorities have announced a citywide crackdown on fire safety violations after a hotel blaze killed 21 people. The fire, one of the deadliest in the capital in recent years, also claimed the lives of several foreign nationals. The action is expected to affect guest houses, hotels, and commercial establishments across the city.

The blaze erupted at Flourish Stay, a bed-and-breakfast in Delhi's Malviya Nagar area, on Wednesday morning. Police said 47 guests were inside the building when the fire broke out. More than 40 people were taken to hospitals, while several remained in critical condition following the incident.
