Pakistan, Sept. 7 -- A Defence Day event at Iqra University has paid tribute to Pakistan's armed forces and national heroes, while urging young people to contribute to the country's development.

The event, organised by the Sindh government's Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, marked 6 September, commemorating the 1965 war between Pakistan and India. Speakers recalled the events of the 1965 war; the role of the armed forces and the sacrifices made in the defence of the country.
