Pakistan, Oct. 6 -- To combat smog in Lahore, the Environment Department has directed schools to promote carpooling.
Director General (DG) Environment Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh has instructed school administrations to make effective carpooling arrangements for students, parents, and staff, and to form carpooling groups for students traveling from the same routes or nearby areas.
According to the DG Environment, it is essential to reduce traffic congestion and vehicle emissions during morning hours. To protect Lahore from smog, unnecessary vehicular travel must be curtailed.
