Pakistan, June 11 -- Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to remain in close contact following a high-level discussion on regional developments. The talks matter because both countries are key diplomatic actors in ongoing Middle East tensions. Governments and regional stakeholders are directly affected by continued engagement efforts.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Thursday. Both sides discussed evolving regional developments and stressed the need for sustained diplomatic dialogue. The Egyptian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan's mediation efforts. He also expressed hope for early progress toward mutual understanding.
