Pakistan, Aug. 1 -- An Islamabad court has accepted a defamation case filed by Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal against former minister Murad Saeed. The court ordered Saeed to pay Rs2.5 million in damages for harming Iqbal's reputation. The ruling was issued by Additional Sessions Judge Hakim Khan.

According to the court decision, allegations of Rs70 billion corruption against Ahsan Iqbal were not proven. The court said claims involving corruption, misuse of authority, and illegal commissions were defamatory. It ruled that the statements damaged Iqbal's public reputation.
