Pakistan, June 26 -- The Trump administration has notified Congress of its plan to sell $700 million worth of jet engines to Turkiye. The proposed deal would support Turkiye's indigenous KAAN fighter jet programme. The move could influence US-Turkiye defence ties after years of strained relations.

According to reports, Congress has 15 days to review and potentially block the proposed sale. However, President Donald Trump retains the authority to veto any congressional attempt to stop the deal. The notification marks an important step in the US arms export approval process.
