Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- At least 265 people have died after a powerful earthquake struck western Colombia on August 10. The 7.4-magnitude quake destroyed buildings, injured thousands and displaced many residents. Rescue teams continue searching collapsed structures for survivors. However, concerns have emerged over delays in accepting some international assistance during the first 72 hours. That period remains critical for finding people trapped under debris. Colombian authorities initially said they had enough personnel to manage rescue operations. They also expressed concerns about receiving teams they considered unqualified for the response.
