Pakistan, May 21 -- China has strongly criticized the United States over legal action and increased pressure on Cuba. Beijing urged Washington to immediately stop threats, sanctions, and judicial pressure against Havana. Moreover, China expressed firm support for Cuba against what it called external interference and political coercion.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks during a regular press briefing in Beijing. He said the United States must end its policy of using force threats against Cuba. Furthermore, he added that China stands with Havana against foreign interference in its internal affairs. He also rejected the use of judicial systems for political purposes.
