Pakistan, May 28 -- Canada has signed a landmark energy agreement with Germany to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG), marking a major step in expanding transatlantic energy cooperation. The deal will allow Canada to export LNG to Europe for the first time on a long-term basis. Officials say the agreement strengthens energy security and trade diversification.
Under the agreement, Canada will supply one million tonnes of LNG annually from British Columbia to Germany. The shipments will be delivered through the proposed Ksi Lisims LNG project on Canada's Pacific coast. The deal was announced in Vancouver by Energy Minister Tim Hodgson.
