Pakistan, Sept. 7 -- The body of Pakistani climber Dr Asma Mushtaq was airlifted from Spantik Base Camp to Skardu on Monday. Information Minister Ataullah Tarar confirmed the successful recovery operation. He said the operation remained difficult because of harsh weather and high altitude. The body will be transported to Lahore on the next available flight.

Tarar expressed gratitude to the Frontier Corps Northern Areas and the Arandu Volunteer Rescue Team. He also thanked everyone involved in recovering the climber's body.
