Pakistan, May 8 -- Bangladesh posted a strong total of 301 for 4 against Pakistan at the end of the first day of the opening Test in Dhaka. The hosts produced a solid batting display, led by captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who scored a commanding century. Pakistan's bowlers struggled to make early breakthroughs despite consistent efforts.
Shanto scored 101 runs off 130 balls, anchoring the Bangladesh innings with a controlled and composed knock. Mominul Haque added valuable support with 91 runs, helping build a strong partnership for the hosts. Veteran Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten on 48 at stumps, keeping Bangladesh in a commanding position.
