Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti urged armed groups to surrender their weapons and rejoin mainstream society. He said conflicts require political solutions rather than militant coercion.

Bugti made the remarks during an Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at the Balochistan Assembly. He said the government remained committed to resolving issues through constitutional dialogue.

The chief minister said state institutions would not allow groups to impose their ideology through violence. He added that meaningful talks could not involve groups targeting civilians.
