Pakistan, July 16 -- Azerbaijan has reaffirmed support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. President Ilham Aliyev made the statement during a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa. The move highlights Azerbaijan's continued backing for the two-state solution.

According to the Azerbaijani presidency, Aliyev said Palestinian Prime Minister Mustafa's visit would help strengthen relations between the two nations. He emphasised Azerbaijan's support for Palestinian sovereignty and described bilateral ties as based on friendship and cooperation.
