Pakistan, July 3 -- At least nine people were killed and 20 others were injured after an explosive device detonated inside a cafe in Syria's capital, Damascus, on Thursday, authorities said.

According to Syria's Health Ministry, the blast struck a cafe located near the city's main courthouse complex. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, while emergency teams treated several victims at the scene.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. Security forces quickly sealed off the area and launched an investigation to determine who was behind the explosion.
