Pakistan, Sept. 10 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has announced Asim Iftikhar Ahmad as Pakistan's next foreign secretary. Ahmad currently serves as Pakistan's permanent representative to the United Nations. Dar made the announcement on Wednesday through a post on X. He expressed confidence in Ahmad's ability to lead the Foreign Office. Dar said Ahmad would advance Pakistan's interests with clarity, professionalism and purpose. He also praised the work of previous foreign secretaries.
