NEW YORK, Sept. 23 -- Argentine President Javier Milei sharply criticised the United Nations (UN) during his address to the General Assembly. He accused the organisation of failing to uphold peace, security and human rights.

Milei described the UN as a "useless organisation" during his speech. He argued that the body had failed to prevent what he described as chaos, violence and international terrorism.
The Argentine president also criticised what he called the UN's failure to ensure consequences for violations of international principles. He said countries following global rules often received little benefit from doing so.
