Pakistan, July 30 -- A post-quantum cryptography (PQC) algorithm being considered for a future United States cybersecurity standard has been withdrawn after Anthropic's AI security model, Mythos, helped identify a major security flaw. The algorithm, known as HAWK, was under evaluation by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as part of its effort to develop encryption capable of resisting future quantum computer attacks. Following the findings, HAWK's developer decided to withdraw the algorithm from the standardisation process.
