Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- Anne Hathaway has called on Hollywood to take dog deaths in films more seriously, saying movies featuring such scenes should automatically receive an R rating.

During a recent interview, Hathaway said on-screen violence and strong language affect her less than watching a dog being killed, highlighting the emotional impact of such scenes.

She referenced John Wick, which begins with the death of John's puppy Daisy, saying the film may have made audiences more anxious whenever dogs appear in movies.

Hathaway, who owns dogs herself, also spoke warmly about Starbuck, the family dog featured in her upcoming film The End of Oak Street.
