Pakistan, Sept. 3 -- Ali Gul Pir has recalled the difficult journey behind his breakthrough song Waderai Ka Beta, which later brought him overnight fame. The Pakistani rapper said he drew inspiration from feudal families and their sons he saw while growing up in Karachi. He wanted to tell the story through the eyes of a feudal lord's son while keeping the song humorous.

Pir said he wrote the song in about an hour after working at a production house for six or seven months. He then shared it with friends and approached Aziz Kazi, who now works as a drummer for Atif Aslam. Kazi had an old Pentium 4 computer, and they used the machine to create the song's music.
