Pakistan, Sept. 4 -- Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has proposed creating up to 15 provinces in Pakistan. He called for a national debate on administrative reforms.
Speaking to a television channel, Iqbal said Pakistan's four provinces had become increasingly centralised. He linked this centralisation to problems in delivering healthcare and education.
Iqbal suggested dividing the existing four provinces into smaller administrative units. He said each province could potentially be divided into three provinces. However, he stressed that political consensus would be essential.
