Pakistan, Sept. 21 -- Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan received $6.4 billion in remittances during the first two months. He highlighted the important role of overseas Pakistanis in supporting the national economy.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Iqbal outlined the government's economic priorities. He said Pakistan aims to strengthen exports through stable and sustainable foundations. The government wants long-term growth rather than short-term economic expansion.

Iqbal said IT exports reached $810 million between July and August. He added that overseas Pakistanis send around $40 billion to Pakistan each year.
