Pakistan, May 26 -- Islamabad and several cities across Punjab experienced earthquake tremors on Tuesday, causing panic among residents. The tremors were also felt in Lahore, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Okara, and Sheikhupura. Authorities said no casualties or property damage were immediately reported following the earthquake.

According to the seismic monitoring centre, the earthquake measured 4.7 in magnitude. Officials said the quake originated at a depth of 18 kilometres beneath the surface. The relatively shallow depth allowed tremors to be felt across several densely populated areas of Punjab and the federal capital region.
