Pakistan, Sept. 2 -- A family in India's Maharashtra state has celebrated the birth of a baby girl after what it described as a 200-year wait. The newborn received a grand welcome from relatives and local residents.

According to Indian media, the family lives in Beed district. Family members said they had waited nearly five generations for the birth of a girl. They described the arrival as a rare and emotional moment. The family said no girl had been born among their relatives for around 200 years. Therefore, they organized a special celebration to welcome the newborn.
