Pakistan, July 24 -- Fifteen security personnel were martyred after militants attacked a police checkpoint in Tank district, the military said. Security forces killed 12 attackers during the operation and launched a clearance mission in the area.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), militants carried out an assault on the checkpoint. It said security forces responded swiftly and effectively, preventing the attackers from achieving their objectives.

The military's media wing said troops displayed exceptional courage and professionalism during the operation. According to ISPR, 12 militants attempting to flee were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.
