Pakistan, June 10 -- At least 12 people were killed and nine others injured in a mass shooting in an informal settlement near Johannesburg, South African police said, prompting a large-scale manhunt for more than 10 suspects.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the attack occurred late Tuesday night at around 11 p.m. in the Jumpers informal settlement in Cleveland, a suburb of Johannesburg. Authorities said the attackers arrived in a white van and launched a coordinated assault on residents.
